Please note this vehicle is titled as 1973.

According to the accompanying history report compiled by marque authority Marcel Massini, chassis number 02048 was completed on 18 May 1971. As one of only 506 examples of an ‘M-Series’ Dino 246 GT, it gained revisions including five-stud wheels, an internal boot lid release catch, seat-mounted headrests, myriad engine, gearbox, and chassis tweaks, plus a rear track that was enlarged by 30 millimetres. Configured in right-hand-drive form, the Ferrari was originally finished in Argento Metallizzato over a Nero vinyl interior and fitted with electric windows, plus a set of Cromodora wheels.

Imported by Ronnie Hoare’s famous Maranello Concessionaires, the Dino was delivered in June 1971 to the Channel Islands and sold via Henry Linton Cars of Jersey to first owner, B H Schulz. They kept the car for two years before it moved in 1973 to England, where it was bought in August by a C Hardin of Essex. The Ferrari swiftly found a third keeper, with Mr Paul Butler of Chessington taking ownership in December. For the first three years of his custodianship, Mr Butler enjoyed chassis number 02048 as his daily driver.

He retained the car through to September 1983. Reportedly, the Dino was involved in an accident around this time. It is understood that the Ferrari was then bought from the insurance company, restored, and painted red. The consigning family acquired the car in 1985.

The 2.4-litre V-6 engine was notably stripped and rebuilt between April and September 2003 by Omicron Classico of Norwich (invoices available to view on file). Most recently, the Dino was treated to a January 2025 service by Stratstone Ferrari Colchester at a cost of £2,046.

The car’s history file also includes 35 MoT certificates that span 1976 to 2018. Please note, the odometer was recorded at 59,534 miles in 2018 but displayed 59,387 miles at the time of cataloguing. A spare wheel and jack in a leather pouch further complement the sale.

Presented today in the classic Ferrari colour combination of red over a black interior, this enduringly pretty Dino 246 GT would make for a wonderful addition to any collection.
