Offered exclusively in the United States from 1963 to 1967, the T120-based Bonneville TT Special was a stripped-down, ready-to-race production machine intended to appeal to TT scramble and flat-track riders. Compared to the street version of the Bonneville, Triumph streamlined the TT Special by removing the battery and carrier, exhaust silencer, headlight, horn, passenger footpegs, speedometer, and taillight assembly. An instant hit and victorious challenger in US-based TT races and flat-track events, the Bonneville TT Special gained a fearsome reputation in competition.

The 1967 model offered here is fully restored, with work understood to have been overseen by the late, Michigan-based Triumph motorcycle authority Bill Hoard. It features an Aubergine and copper gas tank and stainless-steel mudguards, complemented by the racing number 67. Its 649-cubic-centimeter air-cooled parallel-twin engine produces 54 horsepower and is paired with a four-speed gearbox.

This beautifully presented example from the historically significant model’s final year of production holds great appeal with serious collectors.
