The Virage was built at Newport Pagnell at a time when Aston Martin was producing just a handful of cars a week. All were exquisitely appointed with Connolly leather, polished walnut trims, and bespoke detailing for their owners. It is believed that around 233 examples of the Volante—the desirable open-top version of the Virage—were built, making it a sought-after model and one of the last to come prior to Ford’s ownership. Only 121 of those were made in right-hand drive, including the fine example offered here.

According to this car’s accompanying factory build sheet (available to view on file), this Virage Volante was delivered in a custom shade of Porsche Amazon Green paired with a factory-specified Black mohair convertible roof. The luxurious cabin is trimmed in Magnolia leather, complemented by bespoke headrest cushions and a bespoke colour combination of a Spruce Green upper dashboard, matching Magnolia carpets, and rich burr walnut trim inlays.

This well-specified example features the smooth three-speed automatic gearbox and a plethora of sought-after features, including air conditioning, cruise control, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, a switchable sport mode, and an electrically operated convertible roof. The car was purchased new in May 1995 in Jersey, Channel Islands. It was later brought to the United Kingdom and re-registered there on 26 March 2013. It stayed with its then-owner for three years before the vendor bought the Aston Martin in December 2016.

This Virage Volante benefits from an impressive maintenance history, with work carried out predominantly by Aston Martin Works, Newport Pagnell, and supplemented by respected marque specialists such as JD Classics, who performed an annual service in August 2023 at 44,433 miles—consisting of an oil change, plus replacement of the spark plugs, vacuum hoses, and air filter. The car has covered just 32 miles since then. The service prior to this was carried out by Aston Martin Works in June 2022. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer read 44,465 miles. It is supplied with its original handbooks, tools, service entries spanning three books, tools, factory build sheet, Certificate of Origin, original sales documentation, a Magnolia and Spruce-piped tonneau cover, spare keys, and its extensive, detailed service records. In the care of the consigning owner, the Virage was stored in a humidity-controlled garage.

Presenting in a rare, custom colour, offered in superb original condition both inside and out, and with an impressive history file seemingly covering every event since this car’s construction, this rare convertible would be a worthy ride for V-8 summer motoring.
