When the AF Corse #51 Ferrari 488 GTE, driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado, claimed the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ titles in the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship, it proved—as if there was any doubt—that the 488 platform was as capable in competition as it was thrilling on the road. In celebration, Ferrari announced a special version of the 488 Pista at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018. The 488 Pista ‘Piloti Ferrari’ would, as its name suggested, be offered exclusively to the marque’s client racing drivers and made in limited numbers.
Each 488 Pista ‘Piloti Ferrari’ was completed by Ferrari Tailor Made and was offered in four racing-inspired colours: Rosso Corsa, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona, or Argento Nurburgring, with Italian Tricolore graphics flowing rearward from the bonnet and adorning the side sills. Each car wore a unique racing number, and the bonnet proudly displayed graphics honouring the 2017 WEC victories. Tailor Made furnished a dizzying range of special features and options, such as carbon fibre wheels and racing seats, titanium exhaust pipes, carbon fibre front flaps, side air splitters, rear diffuser and rear moulding, and engine cover. Conveniences included an integrated audio system and radio/navigation with Bluetooth, plus numerous interior touches including a white tachometer, carbon fibre interior trim, and stitched Cavallino emblems on the headrests.
The mechanical specification was aligned with the series-production 488 Pista. An award-winning, twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre V-8 producing 710 horsepower at 8,000 rpm is paired with a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission for lightning-fast shifts and a 2.85-second 0-100 km/h sprint. Ferrari’s signature “Manettino” steering wheel dial allows for fingertip drive mode selection, while carbon-ceramic disc brakes provide confident stopping power.
This 488 Pista ‘Piloti Ferrari’ was delivered new in October 2019 by Scuderia Gohm of Vösendorf, Austria. Finished in Nero Daytona with Tricolore accents and the race number "44" (as used in Formula 1 by Lewis Hamilton), the car’s specification is completed by an Alcantara Nera interior. It returned to Gohm Singen, a Germany-based Ferrari dealer near the Swiss border, for annual servicing every year until 2023. The most recent documented service was completed by Niki Hasler AG of Basel, Switzerland in May 2025.
Showing only 106 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, this 488 Pista ‘'Piloti Ferrari' presents in excellent condition throughout. The car is accompanied by its owner’s manual and warranty book.
