Completed by Porsche in December of 2016, this 911 R’s most eye-catching optional extra is undoubtably its CXX option of Deep Blue top stripes and side stripes, believed to be a one-off specification. According to its original window sticker, these came in at a cost of $3,095 alongside white paintwork and a Black over Tarpan Brown leather interior with the 918-style bucket seats. Step inside and keen eyes will note the car’s lack of radio and satellite navigation. This was a no-cost optional extra fitted by many original owners of 911 Rs alongside air conditioning, which is fitted to this car. Other important mechanical options include the desirable single-mass flywheel and 23.9 gallon extended range fuel tank. Further options include the headlight cleaning system covers in exterior color, vehicle key painted Grand Prix White with key pouch in Tarpan Brown deviated carbon fiber floor mats with leather edging luggage net in passenger footwell, tinted top portion of the windshield, and finally the SportDesign exterior mirror upper trim in carbon fiber.
Acquired by the current owner in 2018 via Porsche Fresno as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle with 2,142 miles on its odometer, the 911 R moved to Southern California and thus has called the Golden State its home from new. The car has been both enjoyed and well looked after by its current custodian for the past eight years, showing just 4.952 miles on its odometer at the time of cataloging,
Remaining in Southern California with its next owner, in his care the 911 R has been regularly looked after by Porsche of Newport Beach. The car was serviced by them in January of 2019 (3,308 miles), November of 2019 (4,415 miles), June of 2022 (4,826 miles), and in May of 2024 (4,905 miles). Finally, in May of 2026 the car has been serviced once again by Porsche of Newport Beach in advance of the sale and it remains ready to drive and enjoy with its next owner.
In the ever-increasing age of hybridization and electrification, the 911 R stands proud as one of Porsche’s most thrilling driving cars built thus far into the 20th century. With a 4.0-liter flat six-cylinder engine producing 500 bhp, mated to a six-speed manual transaxle the 911 R combines the performance of the GT3 RS with the subtlety of a traditional 911, it is more than worthy of sharing its name with the original 911 R of 1967. Finding 911 Rs with CXX options is easier said than done, and this example would fit beautifully within any collection of modern or vintage Porsches.
