Tess craves new, uncertain experiences: from family trips spent motoring across Canada’s wide expanse as a child to temporarily relocating to South Korea under an exchange program in her elementary school years, she prefers a life in motion—adversity included. This suits her well in her position as Client Account Manager at RM Sotheby’s where, since joining in June of 2021, she has already had the opportunity to experience a multitude of auctions from their earliest beginnings to the hammer for the final lot. One of the advantages she cites of RM Sotheby’s is the smaller team than one might think, where large-scale events come to life through the creativity and voices of the talented individuals piecing everything together. Suitably, working with people is her self-described passion. Prior to her position with RM, she worked at the Chatham Hospital, near to where RM Sotheby’s calls home, during peak Covid, helping positive patients keep their spirits up and video chat with family. Now she helps guide clients along the path of acquiring their dream cars, a process she finds rewarding from the earliest, tentative calls and emails to the “unmatched energy” of an auction floor where everything comes together. A social and outgoing person, her Bernedoodle—and best friend—Maisy, along with her family, are the most important parts of her life. And while work at RM allows her to sate the traveling bug that’s had its clamps in her since a young age, she always stays active and looks forward to the opportunity to take a break and go off somewhere new on her own.
